Last week on Monday I made a green house for are pinto beans. This is how we made it. First we got a plastic bag then we wrote our name on our bag. Next we wet a paper towel and placed it in are bag then we got two cotton balls that was wet then we placed six pinto beans in the plastic bag. The next day we started to make a green house. We started by getting a green A/4 paper then we got a white piece of paper and we had to cut out the green A/4 paper by using the white paper to help us to cut. Then Miss Lister  would cut out the roof. Then we could decorate the green house we could draw flowers and veges and fruit .

Speed and Agility

On Tuesday Room 18 went to do Youth Town. When we got to Youth Town on the field to do it when we arrived there the Youth Town people told us what we were doing we were doing speed and agility and we got to play two games one of  the games that I know is cat and mouse the the other one I forgot the name of the game. Speed is about moving fast agility is about turning and jumping Next we did cat and mouse and you need two people to play this so the mouse has to run as fast as they can then the cat has to run and try catch the mouse before  the mouse gets to the other side of the lane then after we went back to Room 18.

I was learning to make connections by the book asking questions but I have to answer the them what I did in real life.

In this I had to solve the question by subtracting the numbers. It was easy to do this because you just had to subtract the number that it gives you. This was a fun thing because it was easy.

My gosling nest

Today's morning in Room 18 we were making a nest for are little baby gosling well it was a egg gosling. After we were first going to plan what we were going to put in our container case we were designing our container in our sketching. Then I finished my sketching Next I had to colour in my sketch Finally I got to make my nest I put some tissues in the case because they are soft and put some paper towels in as well because they are soft and put carton in and you could use twigs and leaves but I did't want to use them. Then after we tock a photo with are egg.

This week is conservation week. We are trying to protect and help them in NZ. Like Kiwi,Kakapo. We are learning about Silvereye.The Silvereye is native to New Zealand.She eats insects,fruit and nectar. You can call it Silvereye or Wax eye. It has white rings around their eyes. Predators are:Cats,rats and stoats.

Maori language week

In this we were spinning  around in circles.We were spinning because we were doing an action.The maori word for spin is hurihuri and that is the maori word for spin.

In this Room 18 was putting the numbers in the correct oder.This was hard because every one had to sort them in the correct order. After they were all in the right spot.  

Cross country race

On Wednesday it was the cross country event race and I was the fastest boy in my class and Leighton was the second fastest boy in the class and he was catching up to me and then i tried to run fast after i was done and i cam first and Leighton came seconded and i think i did really good and i was so happy.  

Apostrophe ( ' ) worksheet

I was learning to use apostrophe. It was tricky to put them in the right place because you have to find the places then put it.

WALT:prefixes in words

                           I was learning to do prefixes then learnt about what prefixes means it the opposite of it. It was easy to write the meaning of the word because you just have to write the word.

I was learning to write a narrative story. It was easy to write the sentences. I learnt how to do the complication with the problem. It was easy to do the introduction with the characters and setting.
 

WALT:Synonyms and Antonyme

I was learning to read synonyms and antonyms. I know that antonyms little and big are the opposite. It was easy because you had to concentrate to know which one to put it in.

WALT: use speech marks

It was tricky to put the speech marks in the right place because you had to find it.

In this i was learning to choose the little number and if the numbers were the same you would have to put the equal sign in the medial of the numbers.I found this easy because you just have to do is drag the little number or the equal sigh in the middle

It was easy to find the sounds because you had to just look for to worse then you had to complete the sentences.

Baking ANZAC biscuits.

Today Room 18 made ANZAC biscuits and Miss Lister helped us to make ANZAC biscuits and it was fun and Miss Lister took us in a group to make the ANZAC biscuits and my favourite part was when I got to hold the teaspoon it was so cool and fun and everyone was so excited and they all had lots of great then Miss Lister puted the ANZAC biscuits in the staffroom then when it was redy we ate it at lunch time and everyone enjoyed the ANZAC biscuits. And Miss Lister and Miss Wolstenholme ate the last ANZAC biscuits.

Mathletics Certificate

I got my silver certificate for Mathletics today. It takes a while to get because you need to have over 1,000 points for 5 weeks until you get a silver!

Reading: talk about the main character

Reading reflection. I am learning to Describe the main character. I know how to use the information to draw a picture. It was easy to draw the character because I copied the book picture.

Spelling: short vowel sounds

I was learning to find words with the short vowel sounds.I can do the a ,e. It was easy to do the words because I know the sounds.

WALT:finding place value

I was learning to find place values in numbers. I know how to find the numbers. It was easy to find writing numbers because it had different colours. It was tricky to do the 100 because I didn't know what place it had to go.

Water skills:star fish

I have been learning to float on my back in a star fish. I make sure I have my chin up. I think I am getting better.
